Back in 1998 Lex got a call from a friend in NC saying that a band he knew needed a singer. Personally,Lex was already packed for the east coast, since NC held no place in her heart, but she thought why not? She showed up for the audition and met the rest of the band, which back then was Chris and two other guys. She listened to them play and thought she could bring something to the group. They gave her a demo with their music and told her to show up in a week. Well,by then she had written the vocals for all of their songs, and written several completed songs of her own. They began playing out and building a strong following, when the other two guys in the band(drummer and guitarist), decided to move on in life. Lex and Chris by this time had fallen in love and gotten engaged, and they wanted to continue playing. They changed the name of the band to Sister Adore, and started off on their own. Today, after taking time off to get married and have a baby,Lex and Chris are back at it again, and see no reason why they won't make it this time. They still look to complete their live lineup, since performing is a passion, but have taken it upon themselves to start writing, recording, and promoting all on their own. Their influences could go on for miles, and include everything from Billie Holiday to Rob Zombie. They think of themselves as a melodic and dynamic alternative rock band, and have been described as a female fronted Fuel with a dash of Sunny Day Real Estate,Radiohead and A Perfect Circle thrown in for flavor. But their sound is all their own,and definitely unique. Their website is updated frequently, and they plan to have more songs ready by Nov/Dec of this year. So check them out...you deserve better music.
